NK Sports Tennis

Tennis court systems are generally constructed from PVC coated strained ‘Chainlink’ fencing.

Normally heights range from 2.7 to 3m. This provides the desired ball retention capabilities and allows for rapid absorption of energy when impacted by a tennis balls. Strained wire systems such as Chainlink can be susceptible to vandalism, so where risk analysis dictates, a rigid fencing perimeter should be used.

    Areas To Think About

Below read frequently asked questions and have a look at our illustration to help you with areas to think about.

    • What height of fence do I require?

    • Tennis: 2.7 – 3.0m
    • What must I consider in the specifications of a sports system?

    • This depends on the complexity of the project, however common points are:
    • Proximity of fence line to the playing area
    • Height of fence
    • Sport being played (hard ball or soft ball sports)
    • Is the fence also acting as a security perimeter?
    • Are there minimum performance criteria to apply?
    • What are divider nets?

    • Divider nets are nylon nets used to segregate areas of the playing surface. They are retractable and slide along a suspended cable and can be stroed away in large integrated bags when not in use - thus minimising trip hazards. The nets are used frequently for training sessions where play or practice is conducted across the court. In the case of Tennis, it allows for mutiple tennic courts to share a singe hard external boundary, while subdividing courts with light suspended nylon netting. Divider nets are also frequently used internally in a sports / leisure complex to divide hall areas.
